do you know how much the tps cost for the d16z6.i got this guy who want to sell me his throttle body but he doesnt have the tps. is $20 good for a throttle body minus tps?

i do believe you can't replace just the tps. you have to buy the whole throttle body with the tps. soooo i would say don't get it. but i may be wrong.

You will either need to pull a throttle body off a junked civic and get the tps from that or find someone selling the throttle body. The dealer charges an arm and a leg. So try to find a third party seller.

can you replace the tps sensor or do i have to buy a throttle body with the tps sensor on it already.

Get a used TPS. Honda will not sell a TPS alone - I already tried this once. Kinda sucks and the part guy agrees for something so easy to change out.

Get a used TPS from any 88+ model Honda. They are all interchangeable. Buy some of that sheet black gasket material - really thin, like cardboard. Make yourself a gasket. The material is like 2-3 bucks, really cheap.

Problem is getting off the tps - you'll need to grind off the heads that hold it on and once the tops are ground off...pull off the tps sensor, then grab the leftover of the screws with vice grips and remove them. Repalce them with hex head or any typical screw you can find with the same threading.
